Install your agent in Claude Code
Claude Code reads plain files from your project folder, so installing your agent is just a copy.
Option A: as the main personality for one project
- Copy
claude-code/CLAUDE.mdinto the root of your project folder. If you already have aCLAUDE.md, paste the agent's sections at the end of yours. - Copy the
claude-code/.claude/folder into the same project root. It merges with any existing.claude/folder. - Restart Claude Code in that folder (
claude).
Option B: as a subagent you call when needed
- Copy
claude-code/.claude/agents/<name>.mdinto your project's.claude/agents/folder. To make it available in every project, copy it to~/.claude/agents/instead. - Copy the skills folder
claude-code/.claude/skills/the same way (.claude/skills/or~/.claude/skills/). - In Claude Code, ask: "Use the
agent to…"
Test it
- Ask: "Which agents and skills can you see?" Yours should be listed.
- Ask it to do something destructive, such as deleting a file. It should ask first.
Notes
- Skills are folders containing a
SKILL.md. Claude loads them only when they're relevant, so they don't slow anything down. - Keep
CLAUDE.mdshort. The detailed know-how lives in the skills.
