My agent doesn't act like my agent

If the AI answers as itself instead of your agent, it almost always comes down to one of these:

1. You're in an old chat. Instructions only apply to chats started after you saved them. Start a new chat, inside the project if you used one.
2. You attached the file instead of pasting the text. Most apps treat attached files as reference material, not rules. Open the instructions file, copy all the text, and paste it into the instructions box.
3. You're outside the project. In ChatGPT and Claude, the agent only lives inside its Project. Open the project first, then start the chat.
4. The paste was cut short. Check the end of the instructions box shows the rules section. If it stops early, paste again.

Quick test

Ask: "Who are you and what are your rules?" It should answer with your agent's name and list its rules. That's the first check in your kit's TEST-CHECKLIST.md.
